Mr. Vilas Ravande

Mr. Vilas Ravande is a distinguished former banker, educator, and community leader, known for his exceptional contributions to the fields of banking, education, literature, and social service. A former Deputy General Manager at Bank of Maharashtra, his career is marked by dedication, operational excellence, and national recognition, including the prestigious Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Puraskar, presented by the President of India.
Born on Shravan Chaturthi, Mr. Ravande is an alumnus of Osmania University with degrees in B.Sc. (Genetics) and M.A. (English). He further enhanced his academic portfolio with a Diploma in Business Management from IGNOU and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Post-retirement, Mr. Ravande turned to academics and mentoring, delivering over 2000 lectures across premier banking and management institutes. He has been honored with several accolades including the Innovative Teacher of the Year (2021) by Global Teaching Academy and the Lifetime Achievement Award (2021) by Asian Education Academy.
In parallel with his professional life, he has been a dynamic contributor to Rotary International. Within Rotary District 3131, he has served as District Secretary (Administration) (2023–24) and currently holds the position of District Director – Club Administration (2024–25). His leadership has played a key role in educational and community development initiatives in Pune and Raigad regions.
An accomplished writer and cultural contributor, Mr. Ravande is the author of the fiction book “@ Sixty”, published by Book Ganga and launched by author Satish Mutatkar. His Marathi poetry collection “Priyam” was unveiled by Milind Joshi, President of Marathi Sahitya Parishad. His musical pursuits include a forthcoming album, with the first single—a Ganesh Vandana sung by Indian Idol finalist Aashish Kulkarni—already earning widespread acclaim with over 1 lakh views.
He shares his life with his wife Mrs. Lata Ravande, also a banker. Their children have been raised with shared values of knowledge, service, and integrity.
